Scratches, broken screens, and worn-out batteries are some of the reasons you’d want to replace your phone. However, even phones that have suffered enough of these damages might still work really well for certain tasks. Here are some examples.
1. Use It for Gaming
Phones with minor scratches can be very good for gaming, especially if the system still feels very fluid and the screen quality is great. If the battery has degraded, you can always have it replaced for a small cost.
2. Tighten Your Home’s Security
Do you have a phone with a heavily broken screen that you’re too ashamed to take outside? While it can be unsightly to use, chances are its camera and microphone are still functioning perfectly, making it a perfect alternative to those expensive IP cameras.
3. Store and Play Media on It
It’s amazing how quickly we fill up our phone’s storage, thanks to those daily social media stories you like to share. Your old, worn-out phone will work perfectly as additional storage and playing device for your favourite music and movies so that you can save your main phone’s storage space and battery.
4. Read or Listen to E-books
E-books are amazing because you always have access to them and don’t have to carry them around. Most e-books these days also have audible versions so you could listen to them safely during your commute.
5. Pass It Down to Your Kid
Kids love smartphones, and as much as parents want to limit their kids’ screen time, there’s no denying that using mobile phones can help them in some aspects of their lives. In fact, many toddlers these days have learned their ABC’s by watching educational shows on mobile devices, which is a great thing for busy parents. It also prevents the child from having to use their parent’s phone.
No one should feel guilty of replacing an old, functioning phone, as there are plenty of ways to make the most of its last few months of life. Additionally, buying a replacement doesn’t necessarily have to cost an arm and a leg. Check out this link for heavily discounted smartphones such as the iPhone 8 Plus.
